Cyclosporine (cyclosporin A), the active ingredient of Optimmune Ophthalmic Ointment Rx for Dogs, is a cyclic undecapeptide metabolite of the fungus Tolypocladium inflatum gams. When applied ophthalmically, cyclosporine is believed to act as a local immunomodulator of
