This is a very good condition, totally genuine World War One issue German gas mask canister. This model of Gasschutzmaske (Gas Protection Mask) was introduced in 1917, and was known as the Ledermaske due to its leather body construction. The canister is in lovely condition and still retains a partial rank, name and unit on the top lid! The writing is hard to read, making for a wonderful research project. The carry
