following the inscription from the "affectionate sister" who painted it

and executed in dark green ink on rice paper

and then the "push" button on the far right side causes the drawer to pop open with a most satisfying ding

The blacks on the bone dice, all 19th century, are wonderfully irregular; I especially love the curling arcs of the threes. The red one is wooden, and an early one. Nice just thrown in a bowl, but there is a pair here of the same size that would be good for any dice throwing game. Red one measures 1 2" cubed. Largest bone is 7 16" cubed; medium pair 5 16"
