Constructed of a bronzed alloy, the obverse consisitng of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a black wool liner and intact black paper stock backer, the shield measuring 52. 05 mm (w) x 62. 03 mm (h), in extremely fine
